Hi
My uncle bought himself a 2016 C4 Grand picasso recently. It has the 1.6 8v HDi engine and adblue
It is showing up a flashing urea warning light and warns that vehicle starting will not be possible after 450 miles.
My launch diagnostic device shows up P20EE - Depollution Of The Denox System Emission Control Ineffective
However i am led to believe that there could be more to this code where the 'EE' is?
I would really like to understand the diagnosis a bit more. What parameter measurements can be done and what are 'normal' acceptable figures?
I have done an actuation test on the adblue injector which is putting out adblue. However it could be the DPF or the NOX sensor presumably?
I dont know if this is something diagbox is needed for or can a decent fault code reader do enough here? I used to use Lexia/PP2000 on an old windows XP laptop, is diagbox clones off ebay still good enough to work on the newer models? This launch machine i have seems to be able to read all the parameters and do a fair amount of actuation tests.

Re: C4 Grand Picasso Adblue issue
Have you filled up the adblue tank yet ? If yes and you are still getting the warning then at worst it may need the tank replacing but you could try Wynn's adblue additive which might help dissolve any crystals causing a blockage.

Re: C4 Grand Picasso Adblue issue
Yes the tank is full and has a bottle of the wynns additive in it also.
Running the actuation test the injector seems to be dishing out adblue into a cup when its been removed
Is there a recall out for these vehicles regarding the adblue tank?

Won't be the DPF - that has nothing to do with the SCR system and is totally separate.PC2CV wrote: 08 Dec 2024, 21:10 Hi

If the Adblue is being injected, it may be the sensor that has gone bad - but to be honest P20EE without the last 2 digits at the end of the code mean it could just need an Engine ECU update as per a technical bulletin, but in either case, rigorous guided diagnostics with Diagbox are needed. This is what the dealer would do as it is required with an audit trail to make any claim for replacement items under warranty where relevant.
Your old Diagbox 7 probably won't cut it (can't say for sure), but in any case, Citroen would use the latest version in server connected mode to check and go through the guided tests.
