C4 Picasso 1.6BlueHDi - Aisin EAT 6 transmission oil leaking

Unread post by LeL »

Saw some oil leaking, its dark and dirty. Doesnt look like transmission oil, transmission oil is more reddish than dirty black. More like engine oil. Where is leak coming from? What could be the problem? The engine head gasket area doesnt have any leak, oil filter side no leak. There is no leak coming from the top part of the engine.

Certainly looks like engine oil. Rocker cover or cam carrier leaks are not unknown on this engine.

Where is this located? Never heard of this part. Belongs to engine or transmission?

Ya, it looks more like engine oil. I did an engine oil change just days ago and noticed there is leaking at the transmission area. I wiped away the dripping oil and run the car for 2 days and again saw the same oil dripping at the same location.

I wonder what seal? Could it be the flywheel gasket?

Finally went to workshop and had the flywheel gasket, torque converter oil seal, drive shaft oil seal replaced. Now everything is good. The oil leak is from the engine oil.
