2010 C5 engine stalls when idling/rolling to a stop

So i’ve had this problem since last winter, kinda forgot about it since it mostly only appears when temps are getting lower.

The engine will stall abruptly, usually when slowing down, at like 30 km/h or slower, but sometimes when standing still and idling. It fires right back up without a hiccup though, i can usually put it in neutral and start it before stopping completely.
It has never stalled while giving throttle or at highway speeds.

It mostly happens a when it’s below 0 degrees, more the colder it gets. Last winter we had a couple of weeks with temps close to -40 and it happened all the time, but it starts getting annoying below -10 really.

My EGR is blocked off, i’ve cleaned the throttle body and maf with the correct sprays. Suspected low fuel pressure so ran it a couple of days with a icarsoft reader hooked up but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, when it stalled fuel pressure seemed normal.

My main suspect right now is probably a faulty throttle body/idle actuator but i’d love a second opinion.

Oh and i’m not getting any fault codes, i’ve had that one code p1351 for a while but i doubt it’s related. Glow plugs only work during startup, right?

Glow plugs work after start up too, & for regens. Id say it could be the glow plug relay

Oh, didn’t realize that. Well that would make sense since it gets worse the colder it gets yeah? I’ll try switching that out. My initial plan was to switch the fuel pump in the tank and the throttle body to see if any of those would fix it.

I had a 1.6hdi with similar issues to what you describe. Engine nearly always stalled when slowing down to stop.
The engine did have issues with the glow plug relay (according to diagnostics checks), but the problem was solved by replacing the fuel rail pressure sensor.
