It certainly was James and great to see you :-D

After the superb food, of which I ate far too much  I needed to run a lot further this morning to work off my excesses :)

I thought I'd turn up wearing a bit of colour hoping Jim would be wearing a colourful top as he normally does. Even the barman looked at me funny till I said I was meeting some old boys, I walk round the corner and it looked like a funeral wake!! I won't be making that mistake again!! Great fun though, thoroughly enjoyed the meet and putting faces to names.

Yes you did have a bit of orange, saying Parkrun on your black top, it was that small it could of been turned Into one of those 'shaky hand games'. So thanks to you I looked like a fool, should of worn my Hawaiian shorts to complete the image.

No worries Ryan, I'll make a point of being colourful next time too, although I can't say I noticed anything out of the ordinary at all, just coincidence that most had chosen dark apparel I reckon!! :-D

If you look at my blog Ryan, you will see bright child's puddle suits are available in adult sizes. I'll get one and wear it to our next meetup...

M & S do a yellow duck style one or a green frog one...

Will that do? Yellow or green? I'm tending toward the yellow one ;)

I'm classing myself firmly in the "old gits" category Michael.

Aah now you have made an assumption based on me being called Mick!! At great risk to loss of personal credibility I'll let you into a secret but don't tell anyone, I was named Malcolm by my parents but when I was a baby my listening lobes were so large that my Mother called me Mickey after Mickey Mouse. As I grew up I preferred being Mickey which inevitably got abbreviated to Mick!! Of course I have been called many things over the years but at the end of the day none of them were my call!! :-D

And, despite being old enough to receive both a 'Flu and Covid booster and not far off my old-age pension, I categorically do not consider myself an 'old git' in any way ;)

As I'm well into my second childhood, 'big kid' is a far better description of me :D

And just like you Mick, I've never been known by my first name on my birth certificate. I only use the name for official and formal purposes. I rarely use or even admit to having a second given name...

My youngest son is the same, officially a James but always known as Bob.
Youngest daughter is a Laura, but always known as Lilly, from her elder brother calling her 'lilly (little) Laura' as she was tiny. The people she works for don''t know who 'Laura' is.
