I'm old enough to still believe swearing should not be used in the presence of the opposite sex, whichever sex you happen to be. We have an excessively dynamic language with a vast variety of words to fit any purpose without resorting to swearing and I believe that should be the standard in mixed company and with members of the opposite sex within earshot. As I say that applies both ways and that's how I was raised and in turn raised my kids. Within any same sex environment I have no issue at all, it's how the world goes round!! :-D

That's pretty much how it works here Mick, unless he's mixing with Colombian women as they tend to be a bit sweary.

My concern was with you lot thinking you'd have to behave, not with Sammy 🤣

No danger there Ryan, we're just a bunch of blokes with a common interest having a chin wag over lunch and a beer or whatever. Follow the FCF guidelines and avoid politics and any type of abuse. As a veteran of some 15 of these lunches I can assure you it is always a relaxed, amusing and thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere. :-D

My bluff has been called. I have a couple of very good Lesbian friends, who, at my 50th when I might have had more than one beer, said if they ever got married, they wanted me be their maid of honour. I agreed, right down to asking what colour they'd want my dress to be, do I do my own hair, or wear a wig. Summer or winter wedding? I'd have to shave my legs to wear stockings with in summer etc etc..

Well.
Guess what. They're getting married.

I'll do it. I have absolutely no problem at all doing such a thing. My main concern is whether they were joking and a 6ft 100kg bloke in a dress might steal their big day, as I'd do it properly and look good.

Mick/Jim, have you warned the landlord about us all turning up? I know you booked the table but banter wise he made need a heads up....

Both Sammy and I have the sniffles. I'm going to empty the car at the tip now, then will do a Covid test when I get back. We will come if they're both clear and sit at one of the other tables.

Just got home from a hugely enjoyable lunch. Fantastic to see such a good turnout with 8 seats occupied at the table. I think most had a good meal too and the banter was great. Look forward to the next one where, if we go in November on a Monday or Tuesday, we will benefit from a 10% discount from the pub which is on offer to their regulars!! :-D

Yep, it was rather good to see everyone today and put some more names to faces. Thanks for organising it, Mick. :)
