Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Hello,
On my 2009 C4 the Boot doesn't open anymore, and it's not the microswitch, i measured the 2 Cables with a multimeter and there is no voltage.
Measuring the lock itself there is Voltage, Ground and some sort of sensing wire if the lock is closed i suppose, motor can be operated by a 9 V battery (out of the car).
Can someone please provide the Connector Pin Out feeding die Trunk Harness?
The one plugged in the Connector left of the trunk under the cover. I suppose the cables going through the rubber into the boot lid.
I want to check for continuity between the connector and the boot microswitch cables, since there was no cable damage visible under the rubber where it bends when opening / closing in the first few cm.
There still might be cable damage but deeper into the rubber part, which is very hard to remove.
So far only opening is not working, wiper is ok, lamp also working.
PDC also stopped working a year ago, but i suppose those are connected by another harness as its not in the boot lid.
Thanks

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
With the exception of the wiring codes, most of the component codes are indexed here:
PSA Electrical Diagrams - Wiring & Symbols Codes Index
To start you off...
6282: Boot opening switch
6222: Boot lock assembly
Also, I've assumed you don't have 'Deadlocking'.

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Thanks,
whats "Deadlocking"?
I feel a bit overrun with the chart.
How do i map that to the pins in the sliding connector for the boot door which is spliced in the trunk on the left side underneath the cover?
I mean i can see 6222 on the left as box in the drawing, but uhm .. yeah.
It traces to the BSI ...
So isn't there a pinout of the boot harness where it connects via slider-connector to the body harness?
Thank you

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
The diagrams are on a per system basis so only show data relevant to the locking otherwise there would be too much info to see anything.
The pins on the connectors are marked clearly enough and the numbers shown on the diagram connectors are the same as on the physical connectors in the car if you look carefully.
I don’t know what else you expect to be honest as these are what the dealers use.
The top one shows physical links and the second one shows the harnesses.

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Thanks Marc.
I think this is the Connector for the boot harness, located under the cover in the trunk left side:
Could you give me a hint where this is in the diagram please, can't find it.
Thank you.

On the second part of the diagram this is the connector labelled IC82 16vNRCShape wrote: 26 Oct 2024, 17:29 Thanks Marc.

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Well ...
IC82 16VNR in the diagram is a 8 pin connector, where 2 are empty.
It should connect 3 BA (white cables) and 3 ND (???) cables.
The connector in my picture connects 10 wires where the connector allows up to 16 cables.
Soooo uhm ...
What am i doing wrong here?
I feel dumb now because the drawing doesn't show something like that.
I however understand that the 6222 Box in the picture resembles the 3 pin connector on the boot lock.
3V VE i/ n the other drawing probably is also the lock.
And 2VNR /6282 is the button.
sooo ... doesn't exist what im looking for (a pin description of the connector i took a photo of)?
Thank you both.
PS:
Oooops i think now i got it. The connector is simply uncomplete in the drawing.
Pin2 = 6229, Pin5 = 6297, Pin7 = 6283 ... That would mean the thick (brown/beige) wire is pin2 (6229), the YellowGreen being pin5 (6297) and Yellow being pin7 (6283)
Sigh ... is that correct?

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
The connector in your picture is a 16 way black connector, even if there is only one wire in the connector its still a 16 pin connector.
Ignore the wire colour codes on the diagram, PSA prioritise wire codes. (6222, 6282 etc). Note that the codes can change when they go through a connector or splice.
On the diagram IC82 is the connector in your picture, only wires relevant to the central locking are shown on this diagram although there are more wires in the connector, The other wires will be for rear wiper, heated screen etc. these are not shown on this diagram as they are not relevant in this case as this is a central locking diagram.
EDIT: The wires you are interested in the Black connector are positions 2, 5 & 7.

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Thank you for clarification. Now I understand what marc wrote by reading that again.
As i suspect broken wires i wanted to check all wires for continuity (by plugging multimeter in the connector and checking the other end).
So i now understand such a diagram does not exist.
To check all wires for continuity / resistance from the connector to see if they are broken/damaged i would nee a lot more diagrams.
Dang, i expected there exists a simple connector picture with labels to which endpoint they connect.

Yeah that was not easy to understand if you never tried to read such a diagram.

Re: Electrical Pinout of C4 2009 Boot Lid Connector
Thanks again.
For the next one with this problem, i completed the connector picture as an exercise .... hope it helps someone too. Checking tomorrow if its correct.
I already checked button switch connector pins against ground ... at least the ground wire seems to be broken as there was no continuity.
Since this is a job for tomorrow with daylight, and i expect at least one broken wire .... probably in the lower rubber thing connecting body to boot lid ... how do you fix those?
6534SZ which is the boot harness ... is very expensive and probably unavailable.
Just cut and solder? Maybe Crimp?
Is there enough room to pull the cables out enough? My first try came to a halt after maybe 3-4 cm ... do i need to pull much harder?
Or replacing the harness is the way to go?
