Help with engine ECU part number identification

Hi all,

I am hoping somebody in the know could help me with which part numbers relate to what on the ecu.

Most specifically, I am wondering if the number circled in red is unique to this ecu and will be different on every ecu with the same 'main' part number? Or will it match another ecu out there?

By 'main' part number I mean the 980.. number

I am assuming the V number is software version?

And the HW number is hardware?

Any info is appreciated as always!

The 98* number is your part number and what you need to focus on. The Hardware and software versions will differ, but can also be updated via the dealer if necessary to fix specific issues. So always stick tot he part number and I would suggest if replacing, at least the same Version Level (V46.11), if not higher.
