I had considered that, but that would probably cost the same as a new turbo fitted roughly £1200, which basically means engine swap all because of a £20 part. I had thought about tying it up but nothing to tie to as access is from below only.

It's a major design floor imo as there is no exhaust bracket between the engine and 2 foot in front of the back box. So it carries the weight of the exhaust and DPF.

Have you got a second Jack that you can support the exhaust with, or jack up the car and get an axle stand under the exhaust to support it? :)

Yeah got some stands and can support it. It's just getting the damn bolt springs off, they've been sprayed in galvanising spray just to make it worse.

Can you get a spanner on the nut to hold it, if so an impact gun with appropriate extensions to get at the bolt head should sort it for you. Even if you cut them off you still have the problem of doing up the new ones!! A pic might help generate more thoughts! :)

I did think of taking a photo but with a torch in my mouth, exhaust across my neck and spanner in my hand it was impossible. Can you get long steel cutting blades for a jigsaw?

No, just on an axle stand. I'm thinking if I cut one off, then cut the exhaust off before the DPF, the other bolt should slide out as it has a 'gap' in the turbo mounting to slide in and out of. It's only the exhaust mounting that has a single hole in it.

I'm afraid you've lost me there Ryan, not knowing the car well enough. If you can get a pic or two it would help! :)

I'll grab some photos tomorrow, I'm determined to fix her as I have 1 car and 0 roadworthy at the moment. That means Matt's 7 cars and 2 roadworthy, percentage wise, is beating me!!!

Ryan this is on the wrong thread really so please post the pics on this one.

The last 15 posts, including this one should be transferred to the DIY Motoring thread, linked above, if an admin could help please :)
