help wanted is there a law about not haveing fog lights on the front end of your car as i was stoped by police to night and now got repair ticket to take to a garedge to get them fit,

my old nissan micra didn't have them! Fog lights on the front are for your conveniance and allow you to see better, but i do also beleive that if you have them then they have to be working, so in which case mr plod is correct in giving you the ticket.

Im a bit confused.
Front fogs are not compulsory. Even if you have them fitted they do not have to work (i believe not even for an MOT)
Are you in the UK quon?

Not a part of the MOT, not sure about using them as running lights, if they dont dazzle other motorists they should be okay.

Did you have the front fog lights switched on at the time?
or do you not have them fitted?

Strange case this one Quon! I would not have thought it mattered legally whether your fog/spot lights worked or not.. I think in this case Mr plod has made a mistake.. [:I] [:o)] [;)]

i always thought it was not required to have them fitted to the front of the car, but if they are fitted they have to work, unless they have a cover over the lenses?
i'd be worried about mr Plod if you didnt have fog lights fitted, because well, how many cars (including mine) do Not have them fitted to the front of the car?!?!

I would also agree with lightening....if they are fitted they have to work!!!
