Whilst I'm known for my dislike of videos in general, I've made a big exception for these Facebook reels (short video clips) that follow the adventures of a very precocious two year old girl nicknamed 'Bug'...

Here's a taster ;)

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/FHkR7JfXxXiX5BNT/

She reminds me so much of my own two year old equally precocious granddaughter - they share a lot in common except mine is a lot more stable and balanced on her feet :)

I do love a two year old's unfiltered view of life

There's a whole raft of these reels. Every one's a giggle and well worth following... It's impossible to watch them without giggling - just try!

There's a little girl like that lives near me, her mother and grandmother walk past with her most days and it is great to see them letting her take an interest in everything, exploring all she sees and like Bug, plodging in the muddy puddles.
They never drag her away, always let her set the pace.

That's good parenting Steve :D And how they learn... Kids of all ages love muddy puddles and I'm no exception

People grow old because they let their inner child 'die'. People who nurture and care for their inner child retain their sense of wonder and happiness and treat every day as something to be enjoyed to the full, and usually live to a ripe old age, without turning sour. My landlady lived into her eighties, and had a wonderful disposition. She almost always had a beautiful smile on her face.

That's very, very true James, absolutely spot-on :-D

On that basis, I'm never going to grow old... My inner child is alive, well, carefully nurtured and grows more and more childlike with every passing day ;)

I truly believe that after you reach a certain age/stage in life (retired, children all grown up and your own life pretty much fully secure), you really do enter a second childhood...

And... It's fun being a big kid 8-)

PROVIDED you have something meaningful to occupy your life. When one friend retired he had nothing to look forward to, and died less than a couple of years later, while another friend says he is busier than he was when he was working (fifteen years ago), and still going strong!

That was my dad's axiom and he was always up to something. 92 and on the roof of a Victorian four story house fixing tiles. He was dead a couple of weeks later but only due to falling off a chair while fiddling with a TV, ironically in hospital. It was my mother in hospital really but he was given a room to be near her. The hospital was a long way from their home.
Broke his hip and there were complications fixing it due to an aortal aneurysm.

He always said that his workmates retired, put their slippers on and sat by the fire and died. He wasn't far wrong.

Yes, I've known people I used to work with die of boredom not long after they retired...

No chance of that with me with my fleet of AXs to keep healthy, parkrun, cycling, my massive social circle and looking after a needy house to keep me very busy... And not to mention my close relationship with my own children and my granddaughter :D

After retirement, it's so important to keep up a routine and have a reason always to get up and get out of the house every morning...

Steve, just seen your latest... Just like my own dad... It was a fall that did for him at 92... Until then, still living independently and busily active...

This is the BBC weather forecast for Midhurst today. Do you think I should take precautions as it looks like it might be a bit breezy
Bit breezy in Midhurst - blame the BBC !

This was mentioned on the Today programme about 25 minutes ago. It's a glitch and people are working on the problem.

Yes, heard it whilst out running in the rain - at least they got that bit right

Where I am, there's not a breath of wind...

I was frankly amazed that some people were frightened and worriedly called the BBC. Was that just a bit of journalistic licence or are people really that unwise these days? It was so obviously an error...
