Cruise control retrofit

Unread post by xsara92 »

Does anyone know if this can be done, specifically for a Xsara Picasso 1.6HDi?

Maybe.... this will be a facelift with the COM 2000 unit, so the Cruise stalk should just be a plug in, and then enable it in the engine ECU (and possibly BSI). However, some variants of the 1.6 ECU don't support cruise. You won't have the hard switch in the throttle pedal, so the limiter function won't work.

Not sure if the Xsara Picasso ever had the speed limiter function anyway? Think that was only on full CAN vehicles & the Xsara Picasso never went full CAN.
As said above its only a maybe, some ECU's never supported it, you can only try

Thanks both, so the engines that don't support it just came off the production line randomly? Not to do with the year of production?

No, it depends on the engine ECU fitted. Some will and some will not support it.

The Xsara Picasso could of had both cruise and speed limiter, or just cruise - but depended on trim and engine.
