When the FCF has a brand new thread called "One for the Air Buffs" , in its early days looking for contributions to establish itself, your window seat photo would be a welcome addition, or indeed any others you may have taken on the Airport/aeroplane part of your journey :-D

I have taken the liberty of quoting your POTD post there. I will of course remove it if you wish.

Ouch indeed.

Not very clear but one of the two eggs expelled all its contents into the water and floated.

Hardly exciting or worthy of David Bailey. However, I had wandered off and didn't see it happen, only got back to observe the mess.
But the overflowing mess had extinguished the flame.
No smell of gas!
It's a fairly new cooker and one of the features (that I thought was unlikely ever to be needed) was that it has 'flame protection' (makes it a bugger to light sometimes)
When the flame goes out, the gas is cut off. And it worked.

Just remains to clean up the mess.

You were lucky there Steve! I survived most of my adult live with gas hobs lacking flame failure devices although following my 'fun' last week I'm very happy my current hob does...

I was more surprised that it actually worked. Usually the smell of gas gives the game away.
