Speedo and odometer not working citroen saxo

My saxo odometer and speedo is not working, its been years that i have been having speedo/tacho intermittent odd readings or they stop and they work again but now the speedo and odometer stopped completely but rev counter is working fine.

I recentlt removed the immobilizer unit from the diesel pump but i replaced it with direct power from the battery instead, i removed the speed sensor connector and there is 12volts at the middle pin so i guess there is power to the sensor.

I inspected the speed sensor and there are not any broken teeth or anything but when i checked the resistance in its 3 pins there is infinite resistance, im guessing this is the problem? Maybe someone who knows what the readings should be can help, also worth mentioning i spun up the sensor gear with a drill and nothing changed, i even spun the gear up while it being connected to the vehicle and the speedo did not move.

You wont get any meaningful resistance readings off the sensor as its Hall effect. One pin should be ignition switched live, an earth & a pulsed 12v output when the sensor is rotated.
Most likely a sensor fault, they are a fairly common failing part

Thanks, i think ill just replace the sensor. Its original at 180k kms never been touched

If i change the cluster will the mileage show according to what the "new" cluster covered? Since my 1.5D doesnt have an ECU im guessing there is nowhere to store the mileage data and it is stored into the cluster only

If You change the sensor , the mileage remains the same .

On a Saxo the milage is only stored in the cluster so f you get a used one it will display the miles of the used one.

Okay, the problem ended up being a fuse, changed the fuse and all working now, however the cluster i think ill need to change in the future because randomly speedo or rev counter stop working
