Oh my oh my! - Thanks for the info, Marc- I was expecting a price in that neighborhood but again- wow!
Can I ask here for buying options? There is both original parts and non-original alternatives out there, does anyone have experience with non-original shock absorbers perhaps? (If this enquiry is not fitting here, just tell and I will make a new thread

You seem to have answered your own question by sourcing an alternative supplier.

The last time I bought originals, were from either Poland or Lithuania (can't remember now) and were for about £250 IIRC., but prices are going up because of lack of demand now the vehicle has no longer been made for over 8 years. This, and the steering rack failures with a lack of available power steering pipe parts from dealers has resulted in owners unfortunately scrapping or getting rid of them


So if you find a good price, don't expect to get them any cheaper as this is the first non-OEM strut I have seen......

You have to be carful with these, several people find problems afterwards, that the suspension become very stiff.
The where looking for a solution with different spheres, but at the end the new struts are the problem.
