Re: Tee shirts
The second from the left is "Imogen Heap" that I had to buy to get some change for the newly installed parking meters. Cost more than seeing Imo.
The Stockholm one is a jokey gift from one of the girls.
The Newcastle Uni was from a graduation ceremony where I went to see a couple of Portuguese girls receive their certificates (1sts, both of them and no-one else on the course graduated). Had taken them to a Carina Round concert the year before.

Re: Tee shirts
It is amazing the number of items we have that tell our stories - Tee shirts just the same as every other thing we keep.

Now, this Tee will raise an eyebrow or two
There is a back story, but it will wait a little bit.

Re: Tee shirts
Here is one that SWMBO bought me in the Cavern Club on a visit to Liverpool just a few days before the Beast from the East struck and stranded us in Carlisle.
The Cavern Club is pretty small and just like many of the clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow that I went to in my younger years.
We thoroughly enjoyed Liverpool - very much like the vibe in Glasgow all those years ago.
As I said, it is funny how the things in our life have their own back story.

She probably did and assumed no one would ever notice.

Re: Tee shirts
For those of you who can't read in mirror image, here is the Tee laid out for all to read. And, no, I don't iron my Tee shirts - it damages the printing. Line drying leaves the least creases as well but the changeable weather lately has meant that washing is aired inside.
The reason I gave you a mirror image shot was that I was busy installing a new shower trap.

Back story maybe later, maybe tomorrow.
They are related to these.

Re: Tee shirts
Now, I have learned over the years that if you want to attract the attention of the barstaff in the busy pub you are in then you need to stand out as an interesting, quirky customer ( or send your girlfriend/fiancee/wife up to the bar instead ). Now if your wife happens to look similar to you too, then your chances of being served vastly increase. Call it the Hen Party Syndrome- well fit Stags fit the bill depending on the staff behind the bar.
Cue Six Nations Rugby where we both like to go to Murrayfield to see if Scotland can play rugby for 80 minutes ( or not ).
Our shirt numbers on their own have no real significance but, if you put them side by side, you get the year we were married.

Re: Tee shirts
So how does rugby shirts tie in with tee shirts with dubiously worded messages on them.
Well, one year we decided to treat ourselves and stay over in Edinburgh at the Ibis Styles where we booked a room on the top floor with a balcony view out over Edinburgh to die for ( and a price to match ).
We planned a very "normal" pub crawl back from Murrayfield that included the Roseburn Bar, the Haymarket Bar, various pubs in Lothian Road, the Grassmarket , the Royal Mile but this time culminating at the Guildford Arms off West Register Street. By day, the Guildford is a little known haven in the tourist rammed Princes Street area. By night however, it's ambience takes on a completely different tone and rugby shirts would not be so welcome as they might be elsewhere. However, we reckoned that if we turned up at the Guildford in something a little bit nuanced away from sweaty rugby fans then our chances of being "welcomed" and being served quickly would be greatly enhanced. It worked a treat.
So, these tee shirts were only ever worn once for a very special night out while the rugby shirts have been used a good few times. Both did their jobs!
