Air Vents Discoloration

My C3 air vents have this strange discoloration about them. The metallic silver paint on them seems washed (blown) away...

Is this from too much AC usage on max or something??

Any way for me to repaint them or replace them, whichever's cheaper??

btw the car was bought used, so this is the previous owner doing....

I can almost guarantee that this is the result of using 'items' that have been clipped onto the vents. like mobile phone holders, air fresheners and such like, which have scrapped off the finish on the trim from moving about as the car vibrates. Probably too heavy and this has caused the damage.

You can either get creative with a coloured pen / paint touch up stick, or replace the vents if it's bothering you.

Can you link me a site where i can buy vent replacements??? i mean do they even sell the small silver parts a piece or do i have to buy the whole air vent??

No you'll have to source the complete vent module, which you can order form your dealer or source from a second hand supplier.
