Your loose wheel nut story reminded me of when I was running the garage, I employed a young mechanic who was built like a brick s-house but had to sack him because he simply didn't have the strength in his arms to tighten the wheels properly and the torque wrench was foreign to him.

I've moved some of the recent EV posts to the new topic as suggested by Neil:

'They're' pushing us into this EV oblivion more and more quickly. I can see second hand ICE vehicles rocketing in price on the road up to 2025. We are just not ready to have this forced on us. The marketplace should dictate the pace, not clueless politicians.

This was the broken belt and missing wheel bolt saga unfolding to its conclusion - ie me sorting it out properly.

We've got a 2014 SX4 1.6 Petrol, I love it. It's comfy and economical, but it's also really good fun to chuck about and handles really well.Dormouse wrote: 19 Sep 2024, 08:57 Why a Suzuki Vitara? Well, some of you might remember we had a Suzuki SX4 for a while and it worked great, was economical and, most importantly, was comfortable to get in and out of and drive.

Here are a few pics of our SX4 and the Vitara. Sneaking into shot is Pint Pot and our classic Adria caravan. Both cars are 1.6 DDiS (Fiat ) diesels. Both have towbars. Both are comfy and relaxed to drive but handle B roads easily. I have to admit I like them. I was trying to get a Vitara automatic version though
