Just saw this recent interview with Carlos Tavares on drop in profits - an interesting listen, covering brands, the Chinese, EVs and he just manages to get the e-C3 electric vehicle in there.

It's inevitable, despite him saying "for now", that some the brands will surely have to be dropped to save costs. I really don't want to see cheap Chinese self-igniting EV vehicles flooding the markets here, it will be the end.

Yes, read a lot about that and they're trying to do the same in the US, where the US car makers misjudged the EV market and again have stockpiles of overpriced EV trucks and cars that they just can't sell. Took the people as fools thinking they would pay $70-80k for these things....

I've witnessed the ups and downs of the motor trade since I joined it in 1950, these short term variations have always been there, fleet operators renew those fleets on a three yearly basis so the in between years can be slow sales and depend more on the private buyer who might stick to the same car for ten or more years.
