Temperature gauge not showing data

Hi, on our Peugeot 206 (1.4i 55kW, 2005, automatic transmission) the temperature gauge is not working. The coolant temperature sensor was faulty* (no data on the driver cluster, nor on diagnostics) and I changed it. After changing the temperature sensor, the data is shown in the diagnostics tool (Generic OBD scanner and clone of Lexia) but on the dashboard it does not show the data. It moves only by a few millimeters when reaching operating temperature.

When I do the cluster test via Lexia, the temperature gauge moves in full range. What can be cause of this?

*there is only 1 temperature sensor on my model. The green one on top of thermostat housing.

Repaired. The stepper motor was not working properly. I changed it (soldering needed) for one from Aliexpress PM20T-036, and it's working flawlessly now.
