@ NewcastleFalcon. Renault Fuego Turbo, many decades ago when I was an apprentice bricklayer I worked on a site were a plasterer had one of these blue, he was in his last years apprenticeship, we worked on this site for around 4 or 5 months together and at least once may be twice a month I would give him a lift home in my rust box, battered mini 850 as the Fuego had let him down again, he use to say it was the worst car he had ever owned, only 4 licensed in the UK.. I never knew that I bet he didn't either.
Met him again a few years later on a site in Mold he had an Alfa Romeo Alfasud, I had a Ford Escort RS turbo (in red of course), in tune that Alfa was very quick but the RS left it on bends, we would race home quite often from Mold I had to get ahead coming out of bends other wise I could not take the Alfa, once ahead he could not quite take the RS on the straight not quite enough legs as was the other way around, when the Alfa was out of tune easy pickings and you could tell it was out, on the bends though no match for the RS cornered on rails that car..... Oh the testosterone of youth, long left me now. 😁

Not the actual vehicles of that time, but you cans see what they were in their day.

The two cars in Chris's post reminded me, one of my trader mates had a dolly-bird wife they used to come together to my place where I sold some of their cars for them, one Sunday the wife said "I'll beat you home." and set off in her Alfasud he followed a few minutes later in his Lancia Beta coupe, when he got home no sign of her, her car was parked up a tree :) on a bend in the forest. She was bruised but otherwise ok.
The other car in Chris's post the Ford RS, one of my customers bought a written off RS had it repaired then on a very dark night a few days later the headlamps went off on a bend and he wrote it off again going through a farm gate and into the side of a stone barn.

Aww thanks guys trying to make me feel less of a divvy, I loved my Ford RS it was really quick for its day, but being red it did not like the sunshine we used to have in the old days pre global warming oh no climate change now as it rains all the flippin time, and was desperate to become pink, it was quite a battle to keep it red, my wife's Megane 1999 Coupe did the same years later, so I thought I will just buff it, made no difference as it had a lacquer coat so you just buffed the lacquer and it stayed pink under it, yet the 2007 307CC we bought after it (she likes a red car) in solid red was fine all the years we had it. She was gutted Peugeot had done away with the sold red on the 308CC and had to settle on the Metallic red which is a lot deeper.
So as it always use to say in my School report "must pay more attention" I shall try chaps! but as it seems to be a reoccurring issue since childhood I can't promise 100% 😁

Oh, and what became of my RS, well it went thought a hedge into a field, wet leaves on a bend and way to much testosterone from the driver, I turned into the bend the RS just carried on in a straight line, it didn't look very well after that, neither did I really with a bruised sternum, broken nose and thumb on my right hand (no idea why).

No photo but two classic Rolls Roycez, one like this:-

And a similar but more sombre one passed by the bus I was travelling in. No time to take a picture. Foreign registrations and in immaculate condition.

A few moments later a SAAB 900 Turbo also hove into sight and was in front of the bus so I could see that the number plate was similar and it was from Holland.
Oddly enough the SAAB parked outside my daughter's place of employment (funeral director) but they are closed today.
