New Reg 74 spotting month is upon us

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

...and on the third day, a thread was provided...

When you spot a vehicle with the new reg 74, post up a pic. Thread expires midnight on the thirtieth day.

While early in the month, real life on the road or in the car park spottings are thin on the ground, you may like to peruse the DVLA's list of "banned" 74 number plates.

Having looked at that list of 'banned' numbers I just feel sad at how pathetically pedantic this country is becoming. How long will it be before they ban jokes? :( :(
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I quite agree. A number of those are/were perfectly valid technical abbreviations... And the majority of others, just of comedic value and nothing more.

Some make sense to prohibit but it's a very small number...

That is a vast list though, I'm surprised at the sheer number of them...

Having travelled to Somerset and back over these past two days, no 74 plates spotted in almost 300 miles...

Traditionally it is always a slow start of spotting by the FCF faithful, but keep 'em peeled as Shaw Taylor used to say, I reckon the estates and car parks of the well-heeled in Paggers and Milton Keynes should be as good a hunting ground as any for the first FCF spot. :-D

There are some around ready to be spotted

Any other early-ish September 74 reg spotting from the FCF throng :?:

Went for a walk to the doctors.
Passed through three car parks, plus passing cars on the road. Didn't see a single one.
Mostly because I forgot to look.

Pop down to Dobbies/Morrisons at Birtley or Tesco at Chester-le-Street, Steve, fair chance of a 74 there :-D

That would require me to get my car unfortunately. It is likely missing as it is his weekend off.
Was at Dobbie's a couple of weeks ago and no desire to return.
Contemplating an outing in Durham, seeing as the bus passes the end of my street.
But that has been under consideration for months now, don't want to make any hasty decisions.

Probably years old by the time I get there. Used to go at least monthly but not for years except to take daughter and grandson to college & uni.

There may be some passing my window though, posh BMWs, Teslas and the like.
Drug dealer moved in a while back.

Although much police activity today, hopefully they carted him away.

Some way from civilisation in the outer reaches of the former Roman Empire the "74" can be found if you are switched on and primed to notice.

The evidence points to this being what is known as a "Lexus NX450H+" in Metallic- Terrane Khaki
