Citroen C5X 2024 TomTom map

Unread post by brianj24240 »

Hi All,

I have a new C5X Hypnos about a month old, and have mainly got to grips with the 'Infotainment' system. however one of the things that puzzles me is why the TomTom navigation map sometimes appears with a sort of graduated, in steps, grey background from a central point (see photo). I have tried searching for this, but found any reference to it. Is it telling me something (loss of satellite signal perhaps - although I don't see why it would be) or is it a fault? I've never used TomTom before, so any thoughts gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi.

This is called Dynamic Range Mapping, that visualises the vehicle's real-time range on the map, so you can see even before you get going the vehicle's range. Obviously for Electric Vehicle models. When battery is low it will prompt and show charging points.

Thank you Marc, that makes sense, it does change its size but I never related it to the electric coverage available and it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere in my searches.
Thanks again, another bit I understand now. :)
