Re: Favourite colours for cars
While I am doing that on the EV Spotting thread, no reason why "favourite colours for cars" or other threads shouldn't assemble a similar thing. I like just to select "original" pictures for my "dozens", but that's my own restriction, no reason why linked pics can't be used from wiki or elsewhere
If anyone wants to assemble as a first-off from this thread a personal say "Six of the best", I find tables are the best presentation and once you get used to using them. the syntax becomes automatic. In the spoiler I have put a simple 3x2 template if anyone wants to give it a try with their personal "6 of the best" All you have to do is put the normal picture reference in between the "........" brackets.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
Afraid to say Neil I'm not fond of the table presentation, as when viewing on the phone the pictures are too small and I find it too fiddly with my digits clicking on the right one to enlarge. Not so bad on the laptop of course but I still prefer the standard size single column of pics.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
I never view the FCF on a phone, sometimes on a borrowed I-pad but doing a post on that is like writing with boxing gloves on. Give me a keyboard and a decent sized screen every day of the week.
Only directly uploaded images on the post being made click to enlarge, url referenced images on that table don't, so none of these pics click to enlarge as they are referenced back to previous posts on this thread (all falcon originals) Not really bothered what posts look like on a phone, but how does this 2 x 3 table look. The viewed images can be larger in a 2X3 form than in a 3x2.
For example.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
2 x 3 is definitely better than 3 x 2 and I can click on those more accurately, still prefer 1 x 1 though!!

I like the 'click to enlarge' format.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
I prefer the 'non tables' format, but it's not exactly a deal breaker for me ! I just find it mildly easier for me to just scroll down through the pictures and read the captions as I go.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
A "Favourite colours for cars" challenge on the back of Purple Triumph stag spot today.
Post up your original photos of purple cars to assist with completion of the 5 remaining places on the purple gallery.
The official Triumph colour is...Magenta ...which on rendering on computer screens is 50% red and 50% blue, hex code #FF00FF. Of course as can be seen from the boot lid of the Triumph, in my original picture, light and shadow make things appear in different shades.
The target is 6 different makes/models in shades of what is most simply called Purple. So much easier with a few joiners-in of course, it isn't that difficult. Purple cars are not the commonest but not exactly rare. Originals pictures only make this particular gallery. Your contributions are invited and appreciated

Re: Favourite colours for cars
While I am rather ambivalent about car colours I do like magenta, or a deeper purple.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
A quick walk round the show only yielded 3 purple cars but it did include my favourite purple car:

I think, from memory, the 1600E colour was Ford Aubergine. I remember repainting a MK1 Sprite with it back in the day.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
Only one slot left on the purple gallery...no one seen a purple car over the last few days
Meanwhile a couple of colours caught the Falcon shutter today. Landrover dealer at Kelso had several un-numberplated new vehicles with heavy price tags on the forecourt, one of which I thought that colour suits it, and Renault Clios have some nice stand out colours, this one in blue was parked up round the back of Floors Castle.
