Does anyone here have much experience with the 1987 Citroen Acadiane ? What to expect when using for long distances - is driving at highway speeds for extended amounts of time ok ?
Thanks

What to expect? Noisy and slow! The engine was made to be driven flat out all day so will be fine as long as it is in reasonable fettle, the oil cooler is clean, and there's plenty of oil in it.

Re: Citroen Acadiane
Hi thanks for the response - I just picked it up and it was a 3 hour journey averaging 80kmph - it seem to handle it no problem. I don't care about speed just reliability and practicality. I have a question about the gearing when going uphill - obviously there's power loss on a steep hill and I have to drop a gear and because these engines tend to be very high revving what's the estimated speed limit of each gear ? Seeings there's no rev counter I'm probably changing up or down earlier than I should because I hear the engine racing and don't want to strain it - top speed of third gear would be handy to know

Generally they have little red marks on the speedo which showed the max in each gear - usually screaming by then! Never actually driven a 2CV variant, last one we had (a Diane) was 35 years ago. I did rag a 652cc Visa endlessly in the mid 90's however.
