I imagine people may be unwilling to offer advice when it comes to what is technically a brake modification but after fighting with the T50 carrier bolts ready to swap a disc, they are well beyond reuse.
I'm intending to replace with some normal bolts (without washers because the originals don't have them). Is there anything unforseen as to why I shouldn't?
If OK, should I threadlock?
Bonus technicality for any engineers - Is grade 8.8 better than 10.9 (less likely to sheer under the torque of braking)? I'm not sure what the original bolts grade were but considering I was able to deform the torx spines and bite mole grips into them, I'm thinking they're probably not 10.9 anyway.

Re: Caliper carrier bolts
Just for your information and assuming this is for your 207, the originals are in fact 10X125-30 as you can see:
(10) Brake Caliper Fixing Screw, part: 9678008680 (revised part), £3.20
They also do a fixing kit (9) Caliper Repair Kit, part: 4427C6, £52.56

Re: Caliper carrier bolts
Thank you. I do have M10x30 x1.25 but they're 8.8 and looking around online it seems 10.9 grade steel is generally used for calipers so I'm probably better off sourcing original from dealer.
I just didn't want to deal with Torx bolts (ever again) after yesterday haha

Re: Caliper carrier bolts
Ah, thought you were referring to length, not grade. At least you have the parts now.

Re: Caliper carrier bolts
Ah, not really, I only have grade 8.8 and I'm not sure they are up to spec as searching Google seems to bring back 10.9 grade consistently. They'll be fine to hold everything in place until I can put the correct ones on in a couple of days though.
The only thing to wonder now is, is the new disc meant to noticeably spin less freely when the hub nut is tightned up. Before tightening, disc would rotate several revolutions on a push, slowing down naturally. Now it only spins about 1 rev slowing sharply (no pads of course).

Re: Caliper carrier bolts
Haha, nah, won't even be driven until the bolts arrive. These ones just let me mount it all (I've also replaced caliper and put a new end and flare on the brake pipe too). This braking system has been neglected enough by the previous owner, time for the overhaul now. Having it jink 20° to the left under heavy braking was... unsettling.. having the caliper mount snap off because the bolts were too soft would be highly incompatible with my plans for self preservation.
