Hi all,
I'm looking for some technical advice/thoughts/ideas please. I have a 2010 C5 3L diesel (sorry, I don't have the engine number) that's done about 200,000km.
I bought it in April, and almost immediately had a fuel injector fail. I got that replaced. The next time using my car was taking a trip from Melbourne to Geelong, and on my return journey, another injector failed (turned out to be the opposite injector to the first). My car has been sitting with the mechanic for 3 months now, who has looked at a few things such as the fuel filter and pump as apparently they can be linked to the faulting codes that show up.
This week I contacted my mechanic again for an update, and apparently every time they take it for a drive, it faults, showing fuel injector faults. The issue is that the supposed faulting injector is a different one each time they drive.
It was suggested that all injectors may have to be sent out to be tested.
I'm not a very mechanically minded person, so I don't have any ideas. My first thoughts were either the actual computer control module is stuffed, or that a sensor (or the connection) is dirty.
While I really want my car back (it's been 3 months - they've had the car longer than I have), my main concern is money...
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could suggest to the mechanic?
Thanks a lot for any help and ideas

Fault codes would be a start. This will be a DT20 engine, but provide the actual fault codes and the VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Thanks a lot but unfortunately I don’t have access to any of that information. I haven’t seen my car for 3 months so can’t go check anything out at the moment
