ECU

Anyone know if the ECU on these vans can just be replaced "like for like" or if they would need to be programmed?
TIA

It depends what you have fitted - all these injection ECUs of this era can have different versions - and each as to be configured correctly for gear ratios and other wizardry. So may not need coding as such, but may need configuring as if a donor, it may be from a different vehicle with different configuration. A VIN will help identify what system you have.

Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Is It a Lucas DCN2?
If so if i remember right they are not coded to the immobiliser. The immobiliser is in the stop solenoid in the injection pump & that is matched to the CPH or immobiliser box.

Why do you need to change it? The failure of these are normally pretty rare as they only really control advance & EGR.
