Given the dangers of welding a wheel rim with the resultant heat driven expansion effect on the tyre pressure (will find a video in a moment. Edit: see below) I'm pretty sure getting 40-50 bar nitrogen nice and toasty warm isn't a sensible idea!!

In theory the nitrogen bit of the sphere is a little distance away from the bit that needs welding. I'd guess the diaphragm in the sphere is inserted before final welding is done at the factory, so it must be possible to weld a sphere without doing catastrophic damage..... although I'd not want to be the person to experiment

Is the factory welding not complete before the nitrogen is pressurised?

(I suppose by extension: depressurised, welded, recharged with nitrogen would be viable. Not sure how you'd know if the diaphragm had got too hot from proximity to the welding, or just see what happens I guess)

P.s. didn't know Ferrari borrowed a bit of superior Citroen technology too, thought just Rolls Royce under license has done that!

Thinking about it, the nitrogen and diaphragm issue might be a bit of a red herring. Welding around the collar of the sphere might distort it enough to render the seal of the valve and orifice components in the neck of the body u/s. I'd guess the final part of your average sphere's construction is a machine bore (thread ?) of the neck and insertion of the orifice and valve components - that way any distortion from welding operation is negated.

I'd say more predictable than disturbing - and I have to ask..... does it actually matter in the end ?
Things have moved on since the likes of you and I were at school. In the olden days we had to know our times tables as - quite rightly - the teacher's would point out that you won't always have a calculator to hand. Nowadays, we've not only got a calculator in our back pockets all the time, we've also got the collected wisdom of the entire world accessible in our back pockets. And some of it is even accurate !
Why do you need to be 'clever' at school when you can just look it up / work it out / check it's good via the mobile phone and t'internet ? AI can solve many problems.
Anyone who's had cause to deal with numerous apprentices or school leavers in a workplace may have found that not all of them want to be there or exert themselves. Clearing up and learning the tools of the trades aren't for them - "I'll have the quick access to money and glory, thank you very much". Yes, it's always been the case that apprentices may not always apply themselves to the job, but there wasn't really much of a 'safety net' back then, now there's a multitude of solutions : Claim the employer is victimising you by getting you to do the 'menial' stuff, turn to social media to make out you're being hard done by, live off 'the bank of mum and dad', earn your fortune by entertaining people on Youtube / TikTok / OnlyFans / etc, etc.
