Hi.
I want to ask on the Citroen/Peugeot indirect injection petrol engines. 2.0L.
After 100,000 miles, how much more life to be expected from them? If with a new cambelt, would there be much improvement?
This engine was on my recently sold C5.
The engine note was not as smooth as could be.
Almost, but not quite, it sounded like a diesel engine.
My car is now listed for sale, with it's mot fail fixed. Suspension pipe. And am genuinely thinking on buying it back.
Indirect petrol engine longevity.

Sean
I have a Petrol 2.0L 2007 C5 and your description "Almost, but not quite, it sounded like a diesel engine" is very accurate
Mine sounds like a diesel when stationary and idling. The car has done 65K miles and has always had this characteristic. Once underway the engine sounds much smoother.
Just chipping in this information!

Re: Indirect petrol engine longevity.
If serviced every years, they will last very long, i've had ones with 140k miles and a 406 that had over 180000miles on it.
They migt start drinking a bit of oil thoug, but not a crazy amount

Re: Indirect petrol engine longevity.
Thanks for the replies.
I'll phone the dealer, ask more on that pipe fix. Decide if it has actually been fixed.
Also, it's road tax has increased. £80 more than when I owned it. The Gov tax website confirmed this. Bizarre.
So that's another thing to consider.
