Key fob locks car but never unlocks.

Hi, just signed up to the forum.
I have a 2003 Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 diesel. The remote key fob will lock the car but the unlock button seems dead. Just wondering if I can put the transponder into a new case or is there a better way to fix this problem?

I also have a rear door that won't unlock. I know the child lock is switched on but the door now won't open from inside or out. It's definitely an MOT failure so I have to get it sorted. It might be something to do with the central locking activating as soon as I start driving perhaps?

If the button on the dash locks and unlocks the doors, then the button on the remote is broken. You can find the buttons on Ebay or RS components. The old button will need to be de-soldered and new one soldered. If the button on the dash wont unlock the doors, but will lock the doors, then the fault is a relay in the BSI.

Sounds like you will need a new door lock mechanism. Could be a bad electrical wire in the door electrical loom.
