Random logouts!!
Recently I have been having an odd situation with regard to following posted links. I have discovered that if I go to an external link eg, the link in my most recent post, on using my back button to return to the FCF from the linked site I find myself logged off and have to login again ? It has probably been happening for the last 6 to 8 weeks but I left it in case it went away!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

No issue with the Forum Mick, but more likely to do with your browser settings - clearing out your cookies and cache can help resolve issues.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Re: Random logouts!!
Ok thanks Marc, whenever I follow a link to another site I only allow functional cookies so that may also be my problem, an issue of my own making but I'll just have to get used to logging on again as I have my Brave set to harshest settings so may well not keep my last page when I flit around. I'll live with it!!

Re: Random logouts!!
That happens with Firefox but not Chromium or Brave.
I do generally middle-click anyway though.

Re: Random logouts!!
I haven't changed anything recently that should cause unexpected logouts. I did play with some server cache settings last week, but they are now back where they were.
This forum does not hand out a lot of cookies, there is a session cookie that maintains logged in status but that is generally bullet-proof. There are also a gaggle of google cookies that come with the Google search facility, you should be able to block those without losing other functionality.
I have long believed that there is a bug in the forum software which (very) rarely causes a user to be unexpectedly logged out, but that is very distinctive, as it is almost impossible to login again unless you change to a different browser, I have seen this about 5 times in 10 years, but have never been able to isolate the actual problem.
If you can find a replicable scenario, I will investigate.
