My C5 Aircross Hybrid battery range seems to max out at 28 miles, figures quote 35-40?
It's only one year old so I've booked it for a diagnostic test.
I drove about eight miles the other day and I did notice that it still said 28 miles on the guage so I'm not quite sure how they work out the range
Is this normal?

Welcome to the real world! Don't believe a word of the claimed mileage - it's pie in the sky. From others this is about normal and will vary from car to car, driver to driver, driving conditions and terrain and weight being carried, wind speed and direction etc., etc.

When we had Opel(vauxhall) at work, i almost never saw more than 30km ~ 19miles on the demonstrator Grandland Hybrid4 (the same car just a different shell).
There was an update for some modelyears, and then the guess-o-meter read about 32miles for customer driven cars.

I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre

The car will show you how long it 'calculates' your battery to last. the calculations is based on a number of bits of data, you driving style, air temperature, how well its done in the past, Air con setting. .ChrisKe wrote: 10 Aug 2024, 09:30 My C5 Aircross Hybrid battery range seems to max out at 28 miles, figures quote 35-40?

When i picked up my C5X Phev the GOM (Guess-O-Meter) gave me a figure about 19 miles, 2 months later its up at 34, not expecting much change from that, even though WLTP says 39 mile range. I think the original 19 mile range was because the mechanics "Had Fun" before i collected it.
If you drive fast, say constant 50+ mph your range goes down due to wind and road resistance.
Also, what mile/kw figure are you getting? multiply your useable battery size, probably 12kw by that figure and that will give you a better idea of the cars range.

I read that the standard for electric miles quotas (WLTP) is based on driving at steady 28 mph, and I been driving at twice that, so pretty pleased I'm getting around 30 miles.
