Just read Marc’s excellent topic here:-

Would this be the same for a 63 plate facelift does anyone know?
Sylv’s has finally come up with its first faults.
Parking Brake
ABS
ESP/ASR
Read a few o posts here and elsewhere and it sounds like it could be an ABS Sensir fault.
Unfortunately, I’ve not got a suitable Lexia to cover this late car.
Perhaps a BSI reset will clear it in the meantime.

Hi roger
No, unlikely. All these faults are related to the ESP system. If you get even one faulty wheel speed sensor, it will knock out most of the ESP features like cruise control, automatic operations of the electronic handbrake, hill start assist, anti roll back, descent control and of course all stability functions of the ESP system and possible even ABS.
So very likely to be a wheel speed sensor. A diagnostic would confirm and if so, which one it is.
A BSI reset won't help in this case.

Hi Marc.
My mistake. I did read speed sensor but assumed that meant ABS.
Do you know what protocol the main ECU is that links to the OBD socket as I do have a generic ELM327 Adapter but I just couldn't get it to read anything because I was unable to work out what protocol it was.

Be aware that certain engine faults that don't put the engine light (e.g. minor EGR blips) can interrupt the signal to the ABS ECU and cause the light show...!

You diagnostic needs to be fully CAN compatible and not all of these units can read ABS / ESP Systems.Rhothgar wrote: 29 Jul 2024, 21:11 Hi Marc.

For cars with ESP fitted, the ABS system is all controlled by the ESP ECU. It is just another function of the ESP system and not separate.

Re: Peugeot 3008 1.6HDi Allure Facelift BSI Reset
For future reference for others who may experience this issue.
Here are some photos:-
So C1325 was the error code showing an issue with the signal from the left rear wheel sensor.
The error can either be caused by writing to the sensor or the reluctor ring starting to disintegrate.
From the DTC, I then graphed the wheel sensors to see if there was any obvious errors reading them. There wasn’t. All sensors read fine at time of testing.
By allowing the car to roll down a slight slope I could control the speed and see if there was any dropouts but there wasn’t. The sampling rate on the Autel wasn’t fantastic, an oscilloscope would have been better.
I then inspected the reluctor ring using a boroscope which I video but I am unable to upload this as it is 136Mb in size.
With the naked eye, I could see a very slight crack in the ring and it was scored concentrically around its radius in two places.
As the brake discs and pads look in great condition, I am just going to replace the reluctor ring with one off Ebay for now as replacement discs include the ring as part of it.
With the boroscope, I could see detritus been attracted along the magnetic surface. I dare say that some iron has fallen behind the sensor and ground the grooves in the ring.
I may well remove the other side as a point if maintenance and clean up any detritus stick to the sensor and ring in an attempt to extend its lifespan. I’ll also probably copper-ease the backs of the pads whilst I’m at it.

You can't 'upload' videos to the forum, but there's no need if you first upload it to YouTube, then all you need to do is put the URL of the video into the post and it will automatically display.
