Please can anyone guide me on what diagnostic hardware/ software will achieve a reset of my dpf.
My sister brought me her car saying it goes into limp mode virtually straight away.
After scanning it with a cheap scanner it said additive was excessive and to change dpf.
I have replaced additive bag and taken the dpf off the car and cleaned it with wynns off car dpf cleaner and jet sprayed it.
I have now put the car back together but the dpf says 100% ash and no life left.so i need to reset the dpf. Thanks for any help

Re: Help 208 dpf reset
Hi
The particle filter gets clogged up with components from the additive called Cerine, which cannot be burned off during regeneration. So if you have cleaned the DPF, then you need a professional level diagnostic tool to tell the engine ECU that the DPF has been replaced. There is no 'reset'.
The only thing you reset (again with the diagnostic tool) is the additive counter when you have topped up or replaced the bag. This is done under the relevant section of the repair menu. But as said for a DPF clean, you just need to tell it the DPF has been replaced.

No, it needs to be with a Lexia 3 and Diagbox or a professional level diagnostic tool. Cheap OBD readers won't cut the mustard as they only tend to be readers and basic fault code resetting.
