Well well well, the old dog is acting up again. I have already topped up the additive tank with what I belive is the correct eolys 176 for my 2005 Citroen C5 1.6 HDi. I filled it up until the eolys poured out of the tank via the disconnected plug hole on the side of the tank, towards the rear offside wheel (mind you, it is a left hand drive car, for continental europe).
Now my problem is that when I try to reset the eolys level with lexia, it says that the procedure has been completed, yet after i erase all faults and turn the engine on the fault of "low additive level" appears agian.
The menu where I try to reset the additive level is as follows: Diagnosis -> Global Test -> Injection -> Specific operation for maintenance and parts replacement -> particle filter and diesel additive maintenance -> Additive system replacement -> Filling of the tank
What am I doing wrong? Every answer helps.

Re: Resetting the eolys level on C5 Mk.I facelift
These are the messages that I get displayed when selecting the mentioned option:
*See pictures*
Is there a "multiplexed additive pump menu" and if there is, can I get to it somehow?

All I can tell you is that this model very likely has the independent additive ECU control box (ADDGO) and these can be difficult to reset, often requiring a new box (no longer available from Citroen).
Try clearing the code (if there is one) and if the fault is still coming up, try using the other option as described to see if that fixes it.

Re: Resetting the eolys level on C5 Mk.I facelift
I have tried clearing the fault but it comes back again as soon as I turn the engine on. There are no options further. Just as what I described in the pictures above are the only things shown to me after selecting "Filling of the tank" and to further extent "replacing additive system".
So if I understand it correctly, the ADDGO box is the control module of the additive system. What is the difficulty in reseting them? Are they often faulty?
Today I phoned a cit dealer, they stated that they wouldn't even try to reset the additive counter in my case because they had 10 cases where cars came in with this problem and all ten had their ADDGOs cooked.
So if it is true that not even citroen supplies spare control modules, that my car is rendered basically nonusable?

Re: Resetting the eolys level on C5 Mk.I facelift
A sigh of relief at last!
Got my dad to have a look at this situation. Turns out that my dumba** was looking for the reset in the wrong menu
.
The correct path is as follows:
Diagnosis -> Global test -> Diesel additive function -> Configuration ->Additive tank top up or replacement (low additive LED illuminated)
After follwing the instrunctions given, the counter got reset and the fault of "low diesel additive" disappeared. Did not even have to clear the fault from the Injection ECU
Wierd that PSA decided to include some dead ends into its diagnostic software.
I have provided some snapshots into the attachments, of the menu and the instructions.

Re: Resetting the eolys level on C5 Mk.I facelift
Well done - but yes, these are the same units I was on about. They used to just replace them. Later vehicles have done away with these and this function is now handled and controlled directly by the engine ECU. I think this may be because PSA were pioneers with their DPF additive systems, going way back before they were legally required and at the time probably required the separate control module as they weren't incorporated yet into the Injection ECUs.

Re: Resetting the eolys level on C5 Mk.I facelift
The issue of not being able to reset the additive issue i have come across loads but only ever on the MK1 models. Not sure if the issue affects mk2 (mk1 facelift) models.
The mk2 is when the C5 changed to full CAN so the additive ECU is different anyway from the early models.

My MK I never had DPF, but my MK II DW10BTED4 had an ADDGO unit, but they never had an issue resetting it on this model.
