307 auxiliary belt tensioner

Unread post by NickCUK »

Does anyone have a part number for the bearing only of the 5751.G7 auxiliary belt tensioner used on the TU5JP4 engine?

Also how to remove the tensioner bearing from the housing, it is just a push-fit? This tensioner appears to be working fine so just want to change the bearing only which I hope will be much cheaper than the whole unit.

Reason for looking at changing this:
There is an engine speed related whining noise coming from the auxiliary belt which I recently changed for a Gates Fleetrunner belt of the correct length (1050mm), however, if I re-fit the old cheapy Dayco belt and the noise goes away: So it looks like the noise is coming from the new Gates belt, perhaps it is stiffer rgan the old belt.

With the belt off I notice that alternator squeeks a little if turned anti-clockwise and the tensioner idler pully doesn't exactly feel brand new; very slight movement in bearing.

PSA do not prove the bearing - only the complete roller / tensioner.
