Hi. I am a member from Greece and this forum has been very helpful to me the last years, so first of all "Thank you!"
I would like to ask all of you, based on your experience and considering the cost and the benefit, which is the best to do with the DPF on a c4 picasso 2010 DV6TED4 1.6HDI:
a) clean the filter,
b) replace it with an after market,
c) replace it with a genuine ?
Thanks again.
Question about DPF.

Re: Question about DPF.
A) a deep clean can prolong the life of the filter if done professionally and carefully and without damaging the cement that holds it all in place. It still won’t be as good as a replacement as there are still some elements that will likely remain inside the filter walls.
B) Aftermarket filters are cheaper, but won’t be the same quality as an original filter, so this is a decision for you.
C) An original is more expensive, but will likely last the lifetime of the vehicle ( you didn't mention the current mileage of the vehicle which I’m assuming is telling you it needs replacing).

Re: Question about DPF.
Thank you very much for your answer Marc!
My car ia a 2010 model with 151000 km ( it's a second hand and i am not so that this number is actually right). This period the car is at the mechanic for a timing belt- cam chain- EGR replacement. I don't have a problem with the DPF. I just thaught to ask just in case. Could you give me an average price for these three options in England? Would you propose a 'tested' aftermarket DPF filter?
Thanks again!

Re: Question about DPF.
Citroen prices range from £589 for an exchange DPF (carries an additional surcharge refundable upon return of the original DPF), to about £1100 for a new Original one.
These are from the Citroen dealership.
At this mileage your DPF is getting near the end of it's serviceable life, but I'd start saving up and hold on a bit longer until you get the warning
