This might be normal behaviour but my C5 with the 6 speed auto is demonstrating some unpleasant jerks in the driveline.
For example, we have a long hill near us and a 30mph speed limit so I lift off the throttle at the top and coast down. At various points, as the speed decreases, the gearbox changes down from D5 to D4 and the D4 to D3. At each change, you can watch the revs drop first to idle and then a quick increase to about 1500rpm and the gear is then felt to change - but as soon as it has changed, the driveline gives a couple of heavy jerks. This is all done without touching the throttle and is more noticeable D4-D3 than D5-D4
Is this typical for the car.
I did try manually selecting 4th and 3rd and it seemed slightly smoother but still not as smooth as I remember previous autos to have been.

Re: C5 X7 Auto - jerks when going down the gears
All automatic gearboxes - including Asin, of course - require a partial oil change every 60-80000 KM. Has this been done?
Has this problem always been present (car is from 2009)?
PSA speaks of a permanent top-up because they believe that a car should last a maximum of 10 years or 160-180000 KM.
A well-maintained automatic transmission lasts 400-500000KM.
A non-maintained one lasts around 220-240000KM.
Will gearbox flushing or multiple partial oil changes help here?
It may be necessary to change the shift sliders or alternatively the complete shift box.
Greetings Wolfgang

Re: C5 X7 Auto - jerks when going down the gears
Thanks
It hasn't had a fluid change so far but it is on my list of jobs for sure.
I'll try and get it done asap and if that does not help then I'll investigate the shift sliders. Is that a DIY job?
Cheers!
