They are a pair of fascinating Icelandic twins, Anna and Elsa Kristian, call themselves 'Elves', small and blonde, they have a sort of blog, they get all over the world and describe their travels. Here they were waiting for a ferry from Sag Harbour to Shelter Island and some kúkalabbi pushed in the front of the queue of cars and started trouble wanting to be on first. Cops arrived and spoiled his day, arrested for drunk driving and affray.

I read a lot of Icelandic books but that was a new one for me.

It’s when you lie by telling the truth in a misleading way.

There was a very good example a few months ago, when some Arab papers reported that an Israeli man had murdered a pregnant Palestinian woman on the West Bank.

In fact the two were brother and sister, and the death was the result of a horrible family fight. Both of them were Palestinians (according to some definitions), and both of them were Israelis. It would have been equally true - and equally misleading - to say that a Palestinian man had murdered a pregnant Israeli woman.

Ewan MacColl got a mention the other day from me.... he wrote The First Time (Ever I saw your Face) as performed by many with the most famous version being Roberta Flack for the film "Play Misty for Me".

Bit of an unlikely co-incidence that first up on a search for the song comes Ewan!

I know this song, didn't have to look up Besom....it's in the chorus to this song. Didn't know it was Rabbie Burns.
