C3 Which Catalytic Converter

Unread post by bobins »

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Citroen C3 1.2 EB2 HMZ 82hp 2013

Brother in law's C3 needs a new cat as the current one is slightly cracked. Easy enough job to replace.

BM Catalysts list the required one as being p/n BM91784H which is Euro5 rated.
https://www.bmcatalysts.co.uk/catalogue ... 4H/368857/

They also list p/n BM92266H which is Euro6 rated.
https://www.bmcatalysts.co.uk/catalogue ... 6H/369488/

The Euro6 one is a lot cheaper :-D Outwardly, the 2 cats are as near as identical as makes no difference. They both share at least one Citroen p/n of 9672883980

My guess is that BM Catalysts list the two different part numbers as they've been approved for 2 different applications - Euro5 and Euro6 ? Additionally, numerous sellers list BM91784H and BM92266H as interchangeable.

Anyone know one way or another if they are interchangeable ? Ta muchly in advance :)

Ta for that, Marc. It confirms that - theoretically at least - both the 'cheap' and 'expensive' cats are suitable, so I ordered the 'cheap' one and it'll be delivered tomorrow. :)
