2001 206gti dash lighting inop
Hi all got a problem with the instrument panel where NO lighting at all works on any of the gauges.
The center display does work and can be adjusted .
I have checked physically and with the ohm meter all bulbs in the instrument panel all are ok.
I have swapped with another 2 plug instrument panel and it had the same problem No lighting.
Also swapped the light stalk with a known good one , but to no avail.
Being this is a 2001 car it does not have the com 2000, so cant find any info for this car. WOULD LOVE TO FIND A ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC FOR IT IF ANYONE can halp or have a link it would be greatly apreciated.
Thanx for any help you guys/gals can provide.
Rob

Unfortunately detail for this year is more limited.
I'm assuming this is a non-full multiplexed vehicle.
With the exception of the wiring codes, most of the component codes are indexed here:
PSA Electrical Diagrams - Wiring & Symbols Codes Index
This is the only thing for the instrument panel. There are some for the various warning lamps, clock, lighting etc, but this is the only thing I have for the instrument panel.

If the diagram is correct for your car check pin 9 of the 18 way white connector goes live when the lights are switched on, i suspect it wont be. If not after confirming the wire codes match up you could give this wire 12v to see if it lights up.
If this works you could run a direct feed from the lighting switch to this pin.

I would imagine a 2001 model would at least have comfort VAN.
Can't see any VAN connections on that diagram so probably not for this car so ignore what i said above unless you can confirm this car doesn't have a BSI?

Re: 2001 206gti dash lighting inop
Weird as BSI first started appearing on equivalent Citroen models from 1999.
So if your instrument panel has a 26 way yellow & a 18 way white connector you should be good to try above.

Characteristics state "Without Multiplexing"wheeler wrote: 03 Jul 2024, 17:43 I would imagine a 2001 model would at least have comfort VAN.

But BSI is shown in parts as a 658005 (B1) or 658022 (B2 / B4) if that helps. Which is why I chose the standard 206 diagram and not the MUX version.

Not really, even more confused nowGiveMeABreak wrote: 03 Jul 2024, 21:02 Characteristics state "Without Multiplexing"

If the instrument panel has the correct size & colour connectors and the wire(s) going to pin 9 of the 18 way white connector has the same wiring codes (or at least another code that starts with V) then check it for a sidelight feed. If no feed id go ahead & give it 12v to see if it illuminates.

Re: 2001 206gti dash lighting inop
Another question for GiveMeABreak,
Do you have any other or can you aquire the other wiring schematics for the car, like the body schematic , engine schematic, etc etc for the NON MUXED 2001 206 GTi?
I looked in the schematic thread but all 206 scimmys staart bij the 2002 year model so the ones with BSI and Muxed. I need all the schematics available for the non muxed 2001 version.
Would you be so kind as to see what is available.?
Thanx in advance
Rob

I mean check that this terminal goes live with 12v when the lights are switched on.
