C3 Picasso driveshaft came apart

I was replacing my offside lower balljoint and while levering the hub over the new balljoint the driveshaft came apart at the inner cv joint and the boot fell off.
Is there supposed to be a circlip to hold it together or is it just a push fit held by the boot?
I can't see much without digging out all the grease but the three big balls dont seem to go all the way in so I am worried.

Can I tap it back in or do I need a new driveshaft?

Inner joint is only held in by the boot, you will prob need to disconnect it from the hub to get square enough to get it back in.
