C4 Max (2024MY) - No steering lock !

Having read the generic C4 Handbook I could find no evidence of a steering lock being fitted to the MAX (EAT8) petrol version of my C4.

Interestingly on page 101 of the handbook the following is stated:
"On certain versions with an automatic gearbox (EAT8), the steering column does not lock, but the gearbox locks in mode P".

I'm amazed that the MAX trim level does not have any form of steering lock. Is this normal for the full C4 range?
Do manual versions have a steering lock?

By comparison my wife's C3 Aircross Shine Plus (EAT6) 2023MY does have an electronic steering lock fitted as standard.

I´d say it is a better solution, since you already have the technology to lock the gearbox in P with the electonic gear selection.
One thing less to break...


Fun fact, nearly all Saabs never had steering lock, instead they mechanically locked the gear lever.
