Hi All,
Car: C5 III 2.0 163 manual
Today I get the message on the dash: Battery charge or electrical supply faulty. But it was very strange because I have a voltmeter mounted on central console and is was showing 14.3V.
After connecting diagbox I saw some strange errors like the one from the subject: D567 Service battery voltage fault. Seems that on charging module the voltage seen is different as per the attached picture. The voltage measured with the multimeter is ok, 14.4V but after some time after starting the engine I get the error message on the dashboard.
Could be faulty the monitoring module from the negative pole of the battery?

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
Very likely the Battery charge status module. The readings seem totally wrong showing a minus figure for the amps....

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
Bought a sh unit from scrapyard but no change, still the same error. Forgot to say that also on engine ecu I have the permanent error U1218.
Maybe I should check something else but don't know where to start.

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
Couldn't see that last bit of info at the top because of the reflection on the screen.
Unfortunately U1218 is a generic comms issue and the same code can apply to any of the systems like the EPB, the engine ECU, the ESP, under inflation systems etc., so without knowing the context of the appearance of the fault or the system specifically, it will be very hard to diagnose.
Are you getting any specific engine faults, like stalling, starting issues for example?

Everything is working normal, no stalling or starting issue, no power loose.GiveMeABreak wrote: 18 Jun 2024, 18:18 Couldn't see that last bit of info at the top because of the reflection on the screen.

Today I removed the BSI and I found the 3amp fuse without continuity, it was oxidized. I solder some wire because I could not find any new fuse and the charging error disappear. Seem that there was no fault on the battery charge status module.
Still don't know what is causing the engine ecu error.

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
Quick update. The engine ecu error transformed from permanent to intermittent and was able to delete it.

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
Ok, but make sure you undo that repair and get a proper new 3A fuse in!

Re: D567 Service battery voltage fault
I'll do. Hard to find 3A fuse. Seems that is not widely used.

My Citroen C5 Aircross is the Hybrid Model which is 4 years old on the
30th December 2024. I had a message come up on my screen today saying maintenance due in 6021 miles then replace service battery.
It’s booked in at Citroen on the 13th December for its 4 year service.
Which battery are they on about. The large 12 volt battery in engine compartment or the smaller 12 volt battery in the boot space.
