Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi Lads thanks. There's no oil the far side a little bit of axial play is all which is normally fine but does drag on the housing a little bit. It has a little bit of wear on the housing it's hard to see in the photos and does not seem to spin really freely which is another reason I decided to go the route of a new turbo. I think consensus is turf the filter screen in the bin. It all points to the turbo because it smokes heavily on high RPM's and it was blowing oil out the inlet pipe somehow, I can't understand how the physics of it allows it to do so, if anything you would imagine it blow it out the other end but apparently it's a sign of bad shaft seal. My concern is now that it could be the PCV system is malfunctioning, but I won't know until I have put everything back together again and ruled out the turbo. The new one seems to well remanufactured. As always any advice welcome. Thanks for the moral support Kenny.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Scraping on the side = not normal in my understanding, so agree turbo is definitely not well.
The volume of oil on inlet side in the pictures does not look that excessive from the PCV system. My wife's DV6 engines 206 had loads of oil like that, PCV diaphragm had a split, changed it and...
... Inlet oil, much the same! "They all do that sir" !!

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
The diaphragm on PCV was good but I have changed it to rule it out. The oil quantity is much there but it was streaming out of the side of the intake pipe which means it's under significant pressure. There is a small bit of oil on the intake end of the PCV pipe but not much. I noticed oil dripping out of the lower intercooler the night before last as well. So I need to give it a rinse as well. Hopefully all will be good then. Still waiting on the oil feed pipe. I think it will be here today and then as long as the weather holds I can get finished.

Ah, understood.
Good luck with the fixing and the weather - flipping rubbish this morning here, though brightened up a touch in last few minutes

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Yeah same here but it will be afternoon before I get out of work and the evening doesn't look great weather wise. The rest of the week looks like a wash out. I'm dreading putting it back together it's tight up behind there and no way of really freeing up space. Any tips on aluminium pipe with a small crack in it. It's the high pressure side of the AC. I was going to try and solder it but I have been told it probably won't hold. I wouldn't trust epoxy to last so I'm thinking I need to cut it and use a compression fitting to join it. I don't think a braze would take either.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi Lads I got the new turbo fitted but the pre-cat is an absolute rhymes with mustard. I can get the cat in no issues it's the clamp that holds it to the turbo that's the problem. It is stuck in between the heat shields and I can't get It to spread enough to capture the flange. I have ordered a special pliers but it won't be here till Monday at the earliest. This is the bracket I lost and here it is in situ. I will post pictures of the new turbo in place later on today and where the pre-cat clamp lives you can just about see it in the picture from above but I can only see it from this perspective from photos with my phone

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi Lads got the clamp to seat correctly finally. It's an absolute pig.A couple of photos of the new bracket and the clamp in position on the pre-cat literally just got it to sit right this evening. I bought a clamp pliers specifically for the job and it struggled as well but I got it on and decided to call it an evening. I'll put the rest of together tomorrow and get a few more pics. I'm off this week so getting a bit done. I was busy levelling my back garden and digging a driveway across to a garage that I am finally getting around to completing which the previous owner of the house had started. Not a great structure but I am improving it as best as I can.

Well done making progress, it's hard slog when one little "insignificant" thing is just refusing to co-operate!

Absolutely, can't believe how difficult it is to get lined up. I'm just having lunch and then heading out for the next round.

I discovered this on the primera yesterday might have something to do with the shopping trolley handling I was changing it out because the ball joint was iffy just easier to change the entire thing.

Exhaust reattached and the pre-cat lower bracket turbo outlet pipe reconnected as well. I've to go out for dinner so won't get back at it tonight. This is a picture of my driveway/concrete pad hole so far
. The kids old trampoline makes the walls look pissed but they are actually relatively plum. The leylandiis are next on the hit list.the guy that owned the house before me planted them I absolutely hate them bane of my life.

Don't know much about Primers but that sure doesn't healthy to me!
Good progress on the driveway project too.
I'm sure Leylandii are really good for something, not sure anyone has discovered what yet. Best thing I've found them for is a new found appreciation of seeing the sky! (Once they've been flattened!)
