That is very clever - would be interesting to know what length telephoto lens was used, and how far back the photographer had to stand.

My jungle at the top of my garden, the neglected bit, looks good though with the red and pink roses and the nettles growing up through and flowering.
there's a buddleia that I though I'd killed off but has recovered and spreading out again and in the corner an olive that came as a M&S pot plant but is now ten feet tall.

Bricking it!

(One for Neil).

A brief visit to Beamish before my ticket runs out to buy some more carbolic soap. Have enough for about three years now.

Spotted this shelter from the bus.

The bus was changing shifts there so had to quickly disembark snap a few pictures and dive back on.
At the next stop the conductor stopped and had a word, she had drawn my attention to the last one there.
She actually lives in the brickworks and when digging in the grounds found the underground kilns, built of the bricks from there but not fired, so they couldn't build a house with them as they would have liked.
I can't remember where she said she lived and can't make it out on the brick, 'Leas...' somethingorother.
She had several stories and I am hard pushed to remember what she said.
Quite a collection of bricks there though.

Gimped it and it seems to be Leasingthorne

Excellent work Steve esp the additional research! One of Beamish's finest exhibits for the brick enthusiast :-D . Don't know if he was responsible for that one but there is a chap called Chris Tilney who is very active in the named brick world, who along with his son created a similar wall of different named bricks at Pathead Water Mill near Blaydon.

Neil

PS
you could have done with a packet of cornflour to highlight the lettering on this one as I did here

There is a 'plaque' there that may have that information but in the rush before the bus departed I failed to get a look at it or a photo.
Won't be able to get back there before the ticket expires.

Its on plenty of other images on the net Steve I'll find it. I will put a little more info on the trivia investigations thread which was on the Brocross Database on your Leasingthorne Brick :-D
