Quite remarkable. Tremendous knowledge and skill. Follows on nicely from my little black and decker escapade.

This may have a very niche application. Say you were wanting to create an homage to a level crossing gate with a cross in pristine white painted wood, and a bright red circle at the intersection.

You have no appropriate tools to cut such a circle neatly out of wood/hardboard/ply/metal.

Answer adapt the bright red lid from a "celebrations" tub. Perfect...the face side is red for your project but the other side has the logo, pictures of small Bounty, Mars, Snickers, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Milky Way, Mars, Maltesers, and Twix in a whole lid "label" which is stuck to the red plastic, with the most immovable glue known to man.

You tube uselessly suggests a range of ineffective methods and solvents, so out comes this bit of improvisation

I would describe the finish as perfect, in the sense that it is perfectly adequate for the illusion in hand.

Did you try the dreaded WD40 Neil?
I saw a video earlier where it was recommended for just about everything short of anaesthetic and vaping.
I didn't watch it, only a little bit, as it was all a bit silly but it was supposed to shift adhesives.

Not WD 40 Steve but did make half hearted attempts with GT85, brake cleaner, engine oil, vinegar, veg oil but the printing on the lid is a robust adversary, and abrasion and scraping with the rolled up can lid was the only thing that got anywhere near scratching the surface and removing the super adhesive adhesive welding the decorative printed image to the lid.

The thread awaits an easier and successful removal method.

Doesn't quite fit here but do you like my little nuts?
DSCF4030.JPG
DSCF4031.JPG
2 mm machine screws with matching washers and nuts to fix my secateurs.
A screw fell out a few days ago and rendered them useless. eBay to the rescue!

I used a set yesterday and fixed it but it took forever using two pair of miniature pliers and many profanities.

Remembered today that I had miniature nut spinners and screwdrivers.
Nut spinner fit and there was even a smaller one but no hex driver small enough for the screw.

Gosh, M2, not interacted with much that small. Few bits of M4 and occasionally M3 but vary rarely. Oh and of course, lots of M3.5
Spoiler: show

Tried loads of screws that I have here including electrical screws and motherboard screws, all too big (>2 mm).
The five I bought were £7, a replacement set of secateurs not much more.
