Hi
My C5 estate 2006 gives me a suspension fault message on the dash. The suspension seems to be functioning normally ..it goes up and down when changing height settings and height corrects when I load the front or rear. Occasionally it tells me it can't change height but it will respond a few seconds later if I wait and press the button again.
Any advice most welcome

It would need to be read with a Lexia diagnostic to determine the issue, but as it's intermittent, it sounds like one or more of the height correctors is faulty ' corroded / sticking.
Whatever you do though, DO NOT get under the car unless it is independently supported as if there is an issue with a height corrector it can send an incorrect signal to the suspension ECH in the BHI and cause the suspension to drop suddenly without warning, which can be fatal..
If you can get the vehicle on a lift or over a pit, you may want to inspect the condition of the correctors, especially the dog bone joints - but don't remove the correctors or adjust the position of the clamps, otherwise it will knock out the programmed heights and you'll have to get it adjusted properly.

Re: C5 mk 2 Suspension fault message
I've got a mate with lexia but I won't be able to catch up with him till next week. In the meantime I need to be mobile..
I had issues with the rear height correction sensor a year or so back and took it apart and cleaned it before glueing it back together..so it might be my bodge catching up on me. That said it didn't show a fault last time round..it just stopped working.
Fingers crossed and checking AA membership!

... and should the worse happen, make sure they pick you up on a flatbed truck.

And the car as well!
