X7 regulator, replace unit or wires?

On my x7 the window regulator wires have gone.

Is it worth replacing the whole mechanism, or are the wire fixing kits any good?

When mine went (driver's side), I had the complete unit replaced (warranty), as Citroen just replace the whole thing. Passenger side went a year later and my local garage replaced just the regulator wiring for me.

Not a lot of point making things more complicated than they need to be
