C4 MK2 C139D

Unread post by K_gopsill »

Hi all, new to the group, just bought an accident damaged c4, it needed a new ABS pump, swapped that over with a 2nd hand one with all the same numbers, bled it all and all is fine. Only problem i have now is error code C139D, longitudinal acceleration sensor, won't go away, anybody had any issues with this? Is it a case of swapping the sensor? Thanks

It means the longitudinal acceleration sensor needs calibrating using Lexia / Diagbox.
Fault Code: C139D
Description of Fault: Longitudinal acceleration sensor calibration fault: Calibration. The time of appearance of the fault code varies from 100 to 640 milliseconds following the calibration of the sensor.

Possibility 1
Gyrometer/accelerometer sensor calibration problem (Offset on the longitudinal acceleration)

Possibility 2
Problem with identification of the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor

Conditions of activation of the diagnostics:
  • Calibration of the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • Gyrometer/accelerometer sensor (Calibrated)
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: All of the regulation functions are inactive:
  • Hill start assistance function inactive
  • Switching of the electric parking brake to manual mode
  • Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message Warning lamp ESP/ASR
  • Electric parking brake automatic functions deactivation warning light
  • "SERVICE" warning lamp
Symptoms:
  • Lighting of the ABS and ESP warning lamps
Suspect Areas:
  • Electrical harness
  • Gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
  • ESP ECU
  • Connectors

Thanks Marc, I have a foxwell diagnostic, can it be calibrated using this or is it Lexia only? Thanks

I really can't advise on this I'm afraid, as I can only advise on the capabilities of Lexia / Diagbox which is what the dealerships use. I really depends on the diagnostic tool's capabilities and you'd have to confirm this with the manufacturer.

There is a list of members with diagnostic equipment here and at the foot of the list a link to a map of their locations.
